The Cutting Room Membership

A calm, supportive space to build sewing skills, confidence, and understanding - at your own pace.

The Cutting Room is my online members’ space for people who want to go deeper with their sewing. It’s where I share practical teaching, techniques, and guidance to help you understand why things work - not just follow instructions.

Whether you’re brushing up on fundamentals, building confidence with fit, or returning to sewing after a break, the Cutting Room is designed to support you gently, clearly, and without overwhelm.

What you’ll find inside the Cutting Room

As a member, you’ll have access to a growing library of content, including:

  • Technique-based teaching you can return to again and again

  • Video courses and demonstrations focused on real garment-making skills

  • Sew-alongs and practical projects

  • Fit and adjustment guidance to help clothes feel better on the body

  • Thoughtful resources and reading to support your learning

Everything is designed to be dipped into as and when you need it. There’s no set order and no pressure to “keep up”.

How the Cutting Room works

This isn’t a course you rush through.

The Cutting Room is a flexible, self-paced learning space where you can:

  • Pause, rewind, and rewatch as often as you like

  • Focus on one skill at a time

  • Come back to content whenever you need a refresher

Some members watch first and make later. Others sew alongside the videos. Both approaches are completely valid.

Who it’s for

The Cutting Room is ideal if you:

  • Want to improve your sewing skills without feeling overwhelmed

  • Prefer understanding techniques rather than following rigid instructions

  • Are returning to sewing and want a confidence boost

  • Enjoy learning in a calm, supportive environment

  • Like having access to guidance you can revisit over time

You don’t need to be an advanced sewer, curiosity and a willingness to learn are enough.

Learn in a way that suits you

You can access the Cutting Room from anywhere, at any time, and learn at a pace that fits around real life.

Five minutes or an afternoon - it all counts.

A gentle note from Jules

The Cutting Room isn’t about perfection or speed.
It’s about learning, understanding, and enjoying the process of making clothes that feel good to wear.

“Sadly I cannot get to the Studio to sew with Jules so this is the next best thing. Love all the tips and tricks too. ”

– Clare Beavis

“So much information in here - what a joy!”

– Sarah Coles

“I love being able to stop and start so I can make sure I have understood everything. It also gives me time to play around with my own overlocker to see if I can get it to do the same as Jules. ”

– Sue Stephans

“Who knew you didn't have to unthread it each time? Jules did! I love learning new things and all the little nuggets of gold that you get in a really informative workshop - just great!"
