Create clothes you’ll truly love to wear this summer

There’s something rather special about wearing clothes you’ve made yourself…

Especially when they fit beautifully and feel completely you.

Not “almost right”
Not “I’ll fix that later”
But finished, wearable pieces that you reach for again and again.

This workshop is your opportunity to step away from the rush of everyday life and spend a few days focused on creating something thoughtful, practical, and made just for you.

What this workshop is about

This is a relaxed, hands-on workshop where you’ll work on creating one or two simple garments for your summer wardrobe, with guidance and support throughout.

Rather than rushing to get something finished, we focus on making considered choices - from fabric to fit - so that what you create feels good to wear and fits naturally into your wardrobe.

You’ll be supported at every stage, whether you’re cutting out your fabric, adjusting your pattern, or refining the fit as you sew.

What you’ll work on

You can choose a project that suits your level and interests, such as:

  • Jessica Dress

  • Kate Dress

  • Florence Dress

  • Ursula Dress

I’ll help you choose something that feels achievable within the time, so you can enjoy the process without feeling overwhelmed.

What you’ll learn

As you work through your garment, you’ll be supported with:

  • Understanding and improving fit

  • Making simple pattern adjustments

  • Working confidently with your chosen fabric

  • Developing neat, professional finishing techniques

  • Building a more thoughtful, slower approach to sewing

There will be plenty of individual guidance, so you can move forward with confidence.

The focus

This workshop isn’t about rushing to complete something quickly.

It’s about taking the time to:

  • make careful decisions

  • refine your skills

  • and create something you’ll genuinely want to wear

Who this workshop is for

This workshop is ideal if you:

  • Have some basic sewing experience

  • Want to move beyond “practice projects”

  • Are ready to start building a handmade wardrobe

  • Would enjoy a few days of focused, supported making

What you’ll leave with

You’ll leave with:

  • One (or more) garments either finished or well underway

  • Greater confidence in your sewing

  • A better understanding of fit and fabric

  • The skills to continue building your wardrobe at home

And perhaps a renewed sense of enjoyment in the process of making.

What to bring

  • Your chosen sewing pattern

  • Fabric suitable for your project

  • Matching thread and any notions required (zips, buttons, elastic etc.)

  • Basic sewing kit (pins, scissors, tape measure, notebook)

  • Some lunch - we have a lovely cafe onsite but you are also welcome to bring along your own lunch and enjoy it in the studio.

Choosing your project

Simple, achievable projects work best for this workshop.

If you’re unsure what to bring, I’m very happy to help you choose something suitable, just send me a message before the workshop.

A note from Jules

This is a calm, supportive space where you can properly immerse yourself in making.

There’s time to think, adjust, try things out, and enjoy the rhythm of sewing, which is often where the real learning happens.

I’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.
